Recreation Ground

 

Poplar Way Recreation Ground has a top quality full sized football pitch and a smaller junior pitch. Our pavilion has recently been refurbished and features changing facilities and showers. There is ample on site parking for hirers but we ask that users avoid parking on Orgreave Road as this restricts access for emergency vehicles.

Both pitches are available for hire although there is usually a waiting list. 

Any use of the recreation ground by organisations, teams etc must first be sanctioned by the parish council.

Casual use by Catcliffe residents is permitted if pitches are not in use by sanctioned users.

There is also an enclosed play area for small children, a large expanse of open ground and a football/basketball net.

A second children’s play area is situated at Highfield View. Due to vandalism and the high cost of repair and maintenance we have had no option but to close this facility for the foreseeable future. We continue to research income avenues to hopefully remedy the situation.
