Catcliffe Playground Project

The Parish Council have worked with 3 contractors to re-design the play areas at Poplar Way and Highfield View.  We now have the designs ready and are holding an open day for the public to come along and vote for their favourite design.  The event is being held at Catcliffe Memorial Hall on Saturday the 25th January from 10am to 2pm.  At this stage we still need to apply for funding but are hopeful the project will be complete by the end of the year.

Community Infrastructure Levy

Catcliffe Parish Council has received the sum of £29,151.00 from RMBC from the CIL funding received from Barratt Homes who are in the process of building The Glassworks off Poplar Way.

The monies can be used to support the development of the local area to fund:

“The provision, improvement, replacement, operation or maintenance of infrastructure., or anything else that is concerned with addressing the demands that development places on an area”

Infrastructure includes physical, social and green infrastructure: highways, cycleways, education facilities, sports and community halls, parks and play areas.

The Parish Council are looking into improving the play facilities for children of all ages on the Poplar Way and Highfield View play areas and are also exploring the idea of installing outdoor gym equipment in these areas for adults.

The Parish Council would like to hear from residents to ensure that the funds are spent on projects required by the community.  If you have an idea of how the funding can be used then please contact the clerk on: catcliffepcouncil@gmail.com or 01709 837550.
